68 <br />Qualifications of <br />Steve Sizemore, AICP <br />Clarion Associates <br />Stephen Sizemore is a planner, lawyer, and Senior Consultant in the North Carolina office of Clarion <br />Associates. He has more than 28 years of planning experience, primarily with growth management <br />and development regulation for local governments. Before joining Clarion, Mr. Sizemore was' <br />planning director for a coastal North Carolina county with a large military installation, overseeing the <br />county's development of a comprehensive plan and implementation of its first county-wide zoning <br />regulations and served on Norfh Carolina's Coastal Resources Advisory Council. Prior planning <br />experience includes 12 years as a land use planner/attorney for an urban Norfh Carolina county - <br />where he prepared growth management/land use policies and regulations, including transitional <br />rural-urban development regulations -and 7 years as a planner for a North Carolina university town - <br />where he helped prepare a unified development ordinance. Mr. Sizemore has also worked as <br />research attorney for the American Planning Association, where he edited Planning & Environmental <br />Law, organized the annual Bettman Symposium on land use law, and was an associate editor and <br />contributing author for APA's Planning and Urban Design Standards.
