The Chairman recognized Mr. Jacques Menache, Director of <br /> the Art School, who requested the Board consider funding 1/3 of the <br /> rent (approximately $4,000) to this non-profit organization dedicated <br /> to promotion of the arts. <br /> Mrs. Claire Millar, Chairperson of the Board of Directors <br /> of the Womens Center, spoke on behalf of Women's Health Counseling <br /> Service, Coalition for Battered Women and Rape Crisis Center. <br /> i <br /> Ms'. Janet Mason, member of the Steering Committee of <br /> the Orange/Durham=Coalition for Battered Women, requested the Board <br /> consider funding $5,425 to the Coalition which serves victims of <br /> domestic violence. <br /> Mr. Sam Gainor, volunteer and member of the Board of Directors <br /> of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Rape Crisis.Center, requested the Board <br /> consider funding $8,514 to the Rape Crisis Center which provides information <br /> and support to victims and families of sexual assualt. <br /> Ms. Kathy Reese, spoke on behalf of Women's Health Counseling <br /> Service, requesting the Commissioners consider funding $13,700 to <br /> Women's Health Counseling Service, which provides counseling, information/ <br /> referrals and education concerning women's health to teenagers, men and <br /> t <br /> women. <br /> There being no further business, Commissioner Willhoit moved, <br /> f' <br /> seconded by Commissioner Barnes, that the meeting be adjourned. <br /> r <br /> Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Richard E.
