She <br /> also responded to the Commissioners' correspondence regarding salaries <br /> for members of the school board. <br /> Thereafter, Dr. Robert Hanes and Mrs. Carolyn Freeman reviewed <br /> Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools proposed 1980 budget. School Board member <br /> Ed Caldwell commented about inadequate funding for mandated programs. <br /> - Marjorie Hill. raised a question about locally paid teaching <br /> positions. <br /> y Dr. Hanes requested the Commissioners supply the schools <br /> with a written communication establishing what is approved in the <br /> final budget. <br /> Mrs. Sockwell requested the Commissioners clarify their <br /> position on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools request for $36,360 <br /> capital expenditure for improvements to the high school's baseball field. <br /> Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to <br /> transfer $36,360 from capital improvements to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro <br /> Schools and to reduce the Chanel Hi11=Carrboro Schools' 1980-81 capital <br /> budget by $36,360. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> The Chairman introduced Mr. Ed Regan,-North,Carolina Association <br /> r <br /> of County Commissioners Fiscal Analyst, who was 'present to observe particular <br /> problems County Commissioners must face during budget deliberations. <br /> The Chairman then called for a 10 minute break. <br /> Agenda Item 4: Human Service Agencies Budget Review <br /> The Chairman recognized Ms. Lisa Lind, representing ABE/GED <br /> program, who requested the Board consider a request for $3,600 to cover <br /> costs of renting space for the adult basic education program from <br /> July 1, 1980 through July 1, 1981.
