1 <br /> _rl 17 <br /> t,1 MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> JUNE 2, 1980 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on <br /> Monday, June 2, 1980, at 9:00 a.m., in the Commissioners Room, Orange <br /> 1 County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> 4 Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, and <br /> Commissioners Anne Barnes, Norman Gustaveson and Don Willhoit. <br /> i Commissioner Norman Walker was absent from the first part of the <br /> 4 Executive Session. <br /> 1 Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to <br /> move into executive session to discuss the employment of an engineering <br /> firm for the Northern Fairview Community Development Project. Vote: <br /> ayes, 4; noes, D. <br /> Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to <br /> I employ the firm of John McAdams Company, Inc. as engineers for the <br /> 1 Community Development project in Northern Fairview. Vote: ayes, <br /> Commissioners Barnes, Whitted, Willhoit and Gustaveson; noes, <br /> Commissioner Walker. <br /> The Board requested the Planning Director give each of the <br /> 3 engineering applicants a courtesy call and a letter thanking them for their <br /> 1 interest and letting them know the Board has selected John McAdams Company, <br /> Inc. <br /> ii <br /> The Chairman called for open session to convene and announced <br /> the Board's decision to employ the firm of John McAdams Company, Inc. <br /> 1 as engineers for the Northern Fairview Project. <br /> 1 The following modifications were made to the agenda: <br /> } i Agenda Item 5, concerning a proposal by JOCCA about renovation of space <br /> i <br /> i in Northside Mulitpurpose Center was deleted. Agenda Item 18, Fireworks <br /> 3 Display, was added to the agenda. <br /> I . <br /> Agenda Item 3: Minutes <br /> I Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, <br /> to approve the minutes of May 20, 1980, as corrected.
