Benefits of this consolidation include greater staff flexibility,
particularly relevant during peak seasons, as well as enhanced customer service to the public.
In October 2009, the Board received a timeline for consolidating the department, which included
the need to review and reclassify some positions affected by the reorganization.
In January 2010 the Revenue and Tax Assessor departments were consolidated to the Tax
Administration Department. The Revenue DirectorlTax Collector classification was reclassified
to reflect the duties of both the Tax Collector and Tax Assessor, and the classification title
changed to Tax Administrator. Consistent with the timeline, in December 2009, positions in the
Revenue Department and Tax Assessor's Office were reviewed to identify any changes in
responsibilities due to the reorganization. The Deputy Revenue Director classification was
identified as having an increased level of responsibility resulting in a need to revise the salary
grade and making a change in the position title. The Tax Assessor classification was identified
as needing to be reclassified to a Revaluation Manager.
