Agenda Item 8: Road Matters Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to approve the Department of Transportation's recommendation to add Mimosa Drive, Chestnut Lane and Crabapple Lane to the State highway system. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. r Agenda Item 9: Legal Services z The County Attorney reviewed correspondence and a bill from bond counsel relating to the 1979 Orange County Bond Issue. For p. copy of this information, see page 361 of this book. The Board authorized payment of this bill through funds appropriated for legal services. Agenda Item 10: Budget Amendment-Public Works The Manager requested the Board defer action on this item until March 24th so that he might have an opportunity to correct some figures. The Board requested the Manager check with the Sheriff about his vehicle needs and with department heads to see how thay will reduce travel and gas consumption and with the transportation planner to get a preview of his proposals. Agenda Item 11: GED/ABE Classroom Facilities The Manager submitted a report to the Board concerning funding sources for classroom facilities for GED/ABE classes. For copy of i this report, see page 364 of this book. The Chairman requested the Manager to continue exploring with the schools the passibility of using their facilities for this program. Agenda Item 12: Contract with Town of Hillsboro_u_gh The Attorney recommended the Board aut4orize execution of a contract with the Town of Hillsborough for an industrial sewer line as previously reviewed by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to approve the Attorney's recommendation. Vote: ayes, Commissioners Barnes, Willhoit, Gustaveson and Whitted; noes, Commissioner Walker.
