4. <br /> �r <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> MARCH 10, 1980 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on <br /> Monday, March 10, 1980, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Room, Orange <br /> County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, <br /> and Commissioners Norman Gustaveson, Norman Walker, Don Willhoit and <br /> Anne Barnes. <br /> The following items were added to the agenda: <br /> Agenda Item 13: Road Matters <br /> The Manager requested the Board defer action on items pertaining to <br /> the EMS portion of the budget amendment under Agenda Item 10. <br /> Agenda Item 3: Minutes <br /> Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to <br /> approve the minutes of February 4, 1980, as corrected. Vote: ayes, 5; <br /> noes, 0. <br /> Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to <br /> approve the minutes of February 19, 1980, as submitted. Vote: ayes, 5; <br /> noes, 0. <br /> Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to <br /> approve the minutes of February 28, 1980, as submitted. Vote: ayes, 5; <br /> noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 4: GED/ABE Program Facility <br /> Ms. Leslie Moore and Ms., Lisa Lind requested the County rent space in <br /> Hillsborough to continue a GED/ABE program. They stated the cost to rent <br /> the current facility for the remainder of the fiscal year would be $900. <br /> Commissioner Willhoit moved to refer the question of funding the GED/ABE <br /> program for the period April 1 to July 1, 1980 to the County Manager so <br /> that he might explore iterim use of the Orange County School system's trailer <br /> facilities or any other likely facilities, the availability of CETA funds, <br /> and report back to the Board on March 18th. Motion died for lack of <br /> a second. <br />
