MINUTES ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FEBRUARY 19, 1980 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, February 19, 1980, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Room, Orange County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, and Commissioners y Anne Barnes, Norman Gustaveson, Norman Walker and Don Willhoit. The Chairman welcomed Ms. Betty Thigpen, Orange County Recreation Department, and those persons participating in Youth Involvement Week. The Chairman said two items had been inadvertently left off of the agenda: A public hearing on revenue sharing bonds and the Health Board's request for approval of a family planning grant application. The Chairman called for a public hearing to convene concerning 1980-81 revenue sharing bonds. The Finance Officer gave a brief report. An unidentified woman asked the Finance Officer a question about the amount of the revenue bonds. There being no further comments, the Chairman declared the public hearing adjourned. Agenda Items 3 & 4: Liens on Unpaid Property.Taxes The Tax Collector reviewed his memorandum concerning unpaid property taxes as of January 1, 1980. For copy of this memorandum, see page 326 of this book. Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to set June 2, 1980 as the date of the annual tax lien sale. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. Agenda Item 5: IV�D Agent Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to designate the Director of Revenue as Orange County's IV-D Agent. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. Agenda Item 7: Wild Turkey Trail Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, to approve the Department of Transportation's recommendation to add Wild Turkey Trail to the State road system. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0.
