r . Agenda Item 12: Day Care The Board discussed the desirability of referring to the Social Service Board the question of the County becoming a day care provider. Commissioner Barnes offered to provide Commissioner Willhoit with current statistics on the status of day care and Commissioner 'Willhoit offered to find out more information concerning the possibilities of a grant for day care facilities. No formal action was taken on this item. Agenda Item 14: Budget Calendar The Finance Officer submitted a tentative budget calendar for the coming fiscal year for Board consideration. Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Whitted, to adopt the budget calendar as amended. Vote: ayes, 3; noes, 0. For copy of this calendar, see page 319 of this book. Agenda Item 16: Chapel Hill Housing Authority Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to authorize the Chairman, at his convenience, to finalize an agreement to transfer certain real estate presently a part of the Northside site to the Chapel Hill Housing Authority. Agenda Item 8: Bid Results The Purchasing Agent explained that he had further communication with the UNC Warehouse and needed to amend his recommendation to the Board concerning the purchase of automobile wheels, tires and tubes as follows: purchase from Nu-Tread four 8.25-20 wheels, six 1100 x 20 wheels, four DR 78-14 regular tread radial tires, sixteen 1100 x 20 tubes, six 14" radial tubes, six 15" radial tubes, four GR 78-14 radial mud and snow, nine 1100 x 20 12-ply mud and snow, six 1100 x 20 14-ply regular tread for a total price. of $3,276.52 and purchase from UNC six 8.75-16.5 LT 8-ply highway, twenty H78-15 regular tread belted and eight E78-14 regular tread belted for a total of $1,037.10. Commissioner Whitted moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to rescind the Board's previous action on this item. Vote: ayes, 3; noes, 0. I -7-
