Agenda Item 10: Road Naming Advisory Committee <br /> Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, <br /> to approve the names of those roads submitted by the Road Naming Advisory <br /> Committee at the public hearing of January 15, 1980, as amended. <br /> The Planning Director requested the Board delay action on <br /> this item in order to allow more time for maximum citizen participation. <br /> Commissioner Walker withdrew his motion. <br /> The Board set aside the first portion of their March 18, 1980 meeting <br /> for a public hearing to consider additional road names. <br /> Agenda Item 8: Bid Results <br /> The Purchasing Director explained the County would not be able to <br /> enter into State contract for tires, wheels and tubes until 1981. <br /> The Purchasing Director also explained he had checked with the University <br /> of North Carolina at Commissioner Wilihoit's request to see whether the <br /> County might purchase these items from the University. The Purchasing <br /> Director expressed his concern about the delivery time for the items <br /> the University did not have in stock and recommended the bid of Nu-Tread <br /> Tire Co. ($4,706.62) be accepted. <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, to <br /> approve the Purchasing Director's recommendation that the County purchase <br /> its tires, wheels and tubes from Nu-Tread Tire Co. at a total price of <br /> $4,706.62 and that the County enter into State contract for these items <br /> for 1981. Vote: ayes, Commissioners Walker, Barnes, Gustaveson and Whitted; <br /> noes, Commissioner Wilihoit. <br /> Agenda Item 17: Contract with Women's Health Counseling Service <br /> Commissioner Wilihoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to <br /> authorize the Health Department to administer a contract with Women's <br /> Health Counseling Service Agency for services which will be provided by <br /> Women's Health Counseling Service Agency. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 18: Extension of Tax Listing Period <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson moved., seconded by Commissioner Walker, to <br /> approve the Tax Supervisor's request to extend the regular tax listing <br /> period through February 1, 1980 due to inclement weather and in accordance <br /> with GS 105-307.
