Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to <br /> approve the bid of $11,975 for sandblasting outside walls at the Human <br /> Services Center. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 12: Annual Awards Banquet <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson suggested holding an awards banquet in the <br /> spring to honor retiring volunteer board members with official certificates <br /> of appreciation and with plaques or awards for special recognition and <br /> for outstanding services. <br /> The Board requested the staff determine the number of volunteers <br /> along with cost estimates for a banquet or reception. The Board also requested <br /> the staff submit several options to be considered for approval along with <br /> draft design for certificates for outstanding individuals. <br /> It was the consensus of the Board that Commissioner Gustaveson and <br /> Commissioner Whitted would establish criteria for special recognition. <br /> Agenda Item 13: Coordination Plan for In-Home Services to Aged <br /> The Chairman announced he had received a letter from the Department of <br /> Human Resources concerning in-home services to the aged. <br /> The Manager reported the Health Director, Council on Aging Director <br /> and the Social Services Director were aware of the requests from the Department <br /> of Human Resources and would bring a recommendation to the Board. <br /> Agenda Item 14: Budget Transfer - Board of Health <br /> The Manager submitted a memorandum from the Health Department Director <br /> requesting a transfer of $1,800 from the budget line item Maternal and Child <br /> Health Personnel to Maternal and Child Health Equipment in order that the <br /> Health Department might purchase a microscope and associated equipment. <br /> For copy of this memorandum, see page 209 of this book. <br /> Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to <br /> approve the Board of Health's request. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 15: Philip and Linda Klemmer-Request for Variance <br /> The Planning Director submitted the Planning Board's recommendation that a <br /> variance from the provisions of the County's subdivision ordinance requiring <br /> upgrading to state road standards of about 1,400 feet of private road in the <br /> minor subdivision of Philip and Linda Klemmer be granted. <br /> -5- <br />
