Motion died for lack of a second. <br /> Commissioner Whitted and Commissioner Barnes expressed the desire. to _ <br /> have an opprotunity to explore alternatives with the Mayor of Chapel Hill <br /> before taking action on this request. <br /> Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to <br /> reduce Chapel Hill landfill fees from $3.00 per ton to $2.50 per ton. <br /> Vote: ayes, Commissioners Walker and Gustaveson; noes, Commissioners <br /> Whitted, Barnes, and Willhoit. <br /> i Commissioner Whitted moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, that <br /> 3 Commissioner Willhoit meet with the Mayor of Chapel Hill to explore alternatives <br /> 9 <br /> and that Commissioner Willhoit report to the Board after his meeting with <br /> the Mayor to that the Board can take action on the 3rd Tuesday or <br /> 4th Monday meeting in January. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 8: Request of University Auto Su ply Company <br /> The Tax Supervisor explained he had written a letter to University <br /> Auto Supply Company inviting them to appear before the Board to present <br /> their request for a tax release. He said he had received no reply from <br /> the company. <br /> Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to <br /> deny the request of University Auto Supply Company for the release of <br /> late list charges affixed to its 1979 tax bill. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 9: Appeal of Herb Holland <br /> The Tax Supervisor explained Herb Holland was recovering from an <br /> operation and would not be able to attend this meeting. He recommended the <br /> valuation of Mr. Holland's furniture, fixtures and office equipment for 1978 <br /> be reduced from $14,000 to $10,000. <br /> Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to <br /> reduce Herb Holland's personal property tax valuation for 1978 from $14,000 <br /> to $10,000. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 10: Human Services Advisory Commission <br /> The Chairman reviewed questions raised by the Chairperson of the <br /> Human Services Advisory Commission in her letter dated December 27, 1979. <br /> For copy of this letter, see page 174 of this book. <br /> s <br />
