MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> JANUARY 7, 1980 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session <br /> on Monday, Janaury 7, 1980, at 10:00 a.m. , in the Commissioners Room, <br /> Orange County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> Commissioners ,present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, <br /> and Commissioners Norman Walker, Don Willhoit and Anne Barnes. <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson was absent at the beginning of the meeting. <br /> Commissioner Barnes requested an opportunity to make an <br /> announcement under agenda item 16. <br /> Agenda Item 3: Minutes <br /> Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to <br /> approve the minutes of December 18, 1979, as corrected. Vote: ayes, 4; <br /> noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 4: Human Service Transportation <br /> x <br /> Mr. Rich Miller, Transportation Planner, presented to the Board some <br /> information he had researched concerning human services transportation <br /> systems in other counties along with a chart of County human service <br /> vehicles. For copy of these documents, see page 167 of this book. <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson joined the meeting at this time. <br /> Agenda Items .5 & 6: Roads <br /> Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to <br /> approve the Department of Transportation's recommendation that Doe Trail, <br /> Spring Trail and Forest Ridge Place be added to the state highway system. <br /> Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, <br /> to acknowledge receipt of a report from the Department of Transportation <br /> recommending Luther McCauley Road not be added to the state system. Vote: <br /> ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 7: Fees - Orange Regional Landfill <br /> The Chairman told the Board he had received a letter from the Mayor of <br /> Chapel Hill requesting the county approve a reduction in the $3.00 per ton <br /> landfill fee for refuse disposal to $2.50 per ton for fiscal year 79-80. <br /> a <br />
