Agenda Item 21: Appointments <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, Seconded by Commissioner Walker, <br />to invite those persons serving on the Nursing Home Advisory Committee,. <br />whose terms expire December 31, 1979, .to serve full terms. Vote: <br />ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Commissioner Barnes nominated Ms. Beverly F. Jones to Serve on the <br />Chapel Hill Planning Board. There being no further nominations, Commissioner <br />Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to appoint Ms. Beverly F. <br />Jones to a three year term on the Chapel Hill Planning Board. Vote: <br />ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Commissioner Willhoit nominated Mr. Kenneth Mitchell and Mr. Norman Vogel <br />to serve on the Cable TV Citizens Advisory Committee. <br />Commissioner Barnes requested Mr. Granger Barrett, Institute of Government, <br />be invited to serve on the Committee in whatever capacity he can. <br />The Chairman announced the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education <br />had selected Dr. Charles Rivers as their representative on the Committee. <br />Commissioner Willhoit offered to be the Commissioner's representative <br />on the Committee. <br />There being no further nominations, Commissioner Barnes moved, <br />seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to appoint Mr. Kenneth Mitchell and <br />Mr. Norman Vogel as citizen representatives on the Cable TV Citizens <br />Advisory Committee and to confirm the appointments of Dr. Charles <br />Rivers and Commissioner Willhoit. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 22: Scotswood Subdivision <br />The Planning Director reviewed the preliminary plat of Scotswood <br />Subdivision. p1r. Ken Coulter, Developer, was present to answer questions. <br />The Board raised several questions concerning entrances to Highway 70, <br />reverse frontages, flood plain, underground utilities, revising the <br />intersection of Carolina Avenue and Graham Drive and the traffic on First <br />Street. <br />Commissioner Walker moved approval of the preliminary plan of Scotswood <br />Subdivision incorporating the 19 conditions agreed to by the Planning Board <br />and the developer. Motion died for lack of a second. <br />-6- <br />
