r <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />DECEMBER 3, 1979 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session <br />on Monday, December 3, 1979, 10:00 a.m., in the Commissioners Room, <br />Orange County Courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, <br />and Commissioners Norman Gustaveson, Anne Barnes and Don Willhoit. <br />The Manager announced Commissioner Walker would not be able to attend <br />the morning session of the meeting but would be present for the afternoon <br />session. <br />The following items were added to the agenda: <br />Agenda Item 27: Social Service Case Work Supervisor <br />Agenda Item 28: Extension of Water & Sewer to Mebane Industry <br />Agenda Item 29: 5chedule.of December Board Meetings <br />Agenda Item 6: Minutes <br />Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to <br />approve the minutes of November 20, 1979 as submitted. Vote: ayes, 4; <br />noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 7: Talent Bank - Commission For Women <br />Ms. Hariette Hitt, Chair, Orange County Commission for Women, submitted <br />the results of the Commission's Talent Bank Search and expressed the <br />Commission's hope that the Board of Commissioners would consider using <br />some of this talent when filling vacancies an various boards. <br />Agenda Item 8: HSAC Report regarding Coalition far <br />Battered Women, Women's Health Counseling <br />Service and Rape Crisis Center <br />The Chairman opened the floor to discussion of the Human Services <br />Advisory Commission Report concerning County funding for the 4Jomen's <br />Health Counseling Service, Rape Crisis Center and Coalition for Battered <br />Women. For copy of this report, see page 128 of this book. <br />Mr. Wade Barber, District Attorney, reported to the Board the <br />important function the Rape Crisis Center served and urged the Commissioners <br />to continue funding for this agency. <br />
