Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhait, <br />to approve the Manager's recommendation for a change order adding <br />$2,500 to the Landmark contract for digitizing certain land title <br />records; and that funding for this additional work will come from <br />the Land Title Records Grant. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, D. <br />Agenda Item 7: SugcLested Correseondence <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, <br />to authorize the Chairman to send a letter to retiring ZINC Chancellor <br />Ferebee Taylor, with a copy to William Friday, commending Ghancellor <br />Taylor°s services, offering best wishes to him and his family, and <br />expressing the County's appreciation for a long and pleasant association. <br />Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0, <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to <br />authorize the Chairman to write to Mr. John King, Executive Director <br />of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA, indicating the County's interest <br />in learning mare details concerning the availability of Clear Water <br />-Lake for public recreation; further, that this item 6e referred <br />to the County Recreation and Parks Council to determine how the <br />Clear Water Lake facility would fit into the County`s long-range <br />plans for recreation. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 5: Community Deyelapment Activities <br />The Planning Director reviewed his memorandum outlining possible <br />future community development activities. For copy of this memorandum, <br />see page 69 of this book. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to <br />accept the Planning Board's recommendations: <br />Na. I) That the County continue its involvement in the CD program. <br />No. 2) That the County continue the CO program in the Northern <br />Fairview target area. <br />No. 3) That the primary CD activity be housing rehabilitation, <br />with other activities added, if feasible. <br />No. 4) That the Community pevelopment Task Force <br />be reactivated and that the Board defer action on the type application <br />until after the task force has met. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />
