Agenda Item 11C: 208 Water ualit Plan <br />The Chairman said he would contact Dave Reynolds at.7riangle J <br />to express the Board's desire to participate in Triangle J Council of <br />Governments' 208 Water Quality Management Plan and to request information _ <br />on available sources of non-County funding available to carry out the plan: <br />The Board requested this item be placed on the October 16th agenda. <br />Agenda Item 12: Announcements <br />The Chairman announced representatives of the Department of Transportation <br />would be in the Commissioners' Room on October 4th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to discuss the widening of I-85 from <br />the Guilford County line to the Durham County line with anyone interested. <br />The Chairman announced the Board would meet with interested persons <br />in the Grand Jury Room of the Old Courthouse on Tuesday, October 9th, <br />at 7:30 p.m., to discuss emergency medical services. <br />Agenda Item 13: Road Matter <br />Commissioner Willhoit requested the Clerk ask the Department of <br />Transportation to consider increasing the green signal time at the new <br />traffic light at the intersection of 15-501 Bypass and South Columbia - <br />Street since a bottleneck occurs each morning and evening, particularly <br />at the off ramp on the north side of 15-501. He also suggested synchronizing <br />the two existing signals with the third signal, which is not yet in operation. <br />Agenda Item 14: JOCCA-Employment & Training Opportunities_Program . <br />The Chairman announced he had received a letter from the Director <br />of JOCCA requesting the Board support JOCCA in its efforts to secure <br />funding from the NC Division of Community Education for an Employment and <br />Training Opportunities Program. <br />It was the consensus of the Board tv refer this item to the <br />CETA Director fora recommendation that the Board could consider at <br />another meeting.
