~i _ .. <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />SEPTEMBER 4, 1979 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session <br />on Tuesday, September 4, 1979, at 10:00 a.m., in the Commissioners Room, <br />Orange County Courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners, present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Ghairman, <br />and Commissioners Norman Walker, Norman Gustaveson and Anne Barnes. <br />Commissioner Don Willhait arrived late. <br />The following items were added to the agenda: <br />Agenda Item 10: Announcements <br />Agenda Item 11: EMS <br />Agenda Item 3: Minutes <br />Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, <br />the minutes of August 21, 1979 be approved as written. Vote: ayes, <br />Commissioners Gustaveson, Barnes, Whitted and Walker; noes, 0, <br />Agenda Item 4: Bud et Amendments <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, <br />to approve the Manager's recommendation to approve certain amendments to <br />the budget for the Orange-Durham Office of Community Employment and <br />Training. Vote: ayes, Commissioners Barnes, Gustaveson, Whitted and <br />Walker; noes, 0. <br />For copy of these budget amendments, see page 11 of this book. <br />Agenda Item 5A: Appointments_to CETA Advisory Council <br />Commissioner Barnes reported Mr. M. T. Bledsoe, Assistant Personnel <br />Director for Training at UNC,and Dr. Mike Simmons, Superintendent for <br />Orange County Schools, had expressed a willingness to serve on the <br />CETA Advisory Council. She said the Chamber of Commerce would like <br />an opportunity to officially nominate a representative at their <br />Board of Director's meeting and, until they make a formal nomination, <br />Mr. Bill Hearn will participate on the Council. Commissioner Barnes <br />said that Agatha Johnson had not been officially appointed by the <br />Board as the designated representative of the Town of Hillsborough <br />on the CETA Advisory Council. - <br />
