Mrc Reynolds also spoke in favor of retaining <br />reading aides and bus monitors. <br />Mr. Edward Gill, parent, spoke in favor of the budgets proposed <br />by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School Board. <br />Mrs. Rachel Stevens spoke in favor of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro <br />and Orange County Scfiools being funded equally. <br />Ms. Verla Insko, member of Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education, <br />spoke in support of all monies requested by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools <br />and the Orange County Schools. She read some comments from parents <br />surveyed who were in favor of increasing taxes to provide better <br />educational opportunities for their children, <br />Ms. Chic White spoke in favor of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School's <br />base and-.supplemental budget requests. She was opposed to any cut in <br />instructional supplies or bus monitors. <br />Mr. Carl Markuson, Director of Chapel Hi'.l-Carrboro Schools Business <br />Services, spoke in support of proposed Chapel Hill-Carrboro School's <br />budget requests. <br />Ms. Elaine Markus, parent, spoke in support of the Chapel Hill- <br />Carrboro 5choo1's proposed budgets. She was opposed to any cuts in <br />instructional supplies. <br />Mr. Bi11 Strickland, member Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education, <br />spoke in support of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School's proposed budgets. <br />Ms. Doris Hayes, teacher, spoke in support of Orange County School <br />Board's budget requests. <br />Mr. Ed Caldwell, Vice Chairman, Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of <br />Education, spoke in support of Chapei Hill-Carrboro School Board'5 <br />proposed budgets.
