~ ~. <br />Agenda Item 4: State Fundin to Schools <br />Dr. Hanes and Dr. Simmons each submitted figures of estimated funding <br />from the State to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Orange County Schools. <br />For copies of these documents, see page 512 of this book. It was <br />the consensus of the Board that the Chairman would draft a setter <br />in response to Representative Holmes' letter of rune 7, 1979 which would <br />correct the erroneous figures submitted by the NC Department of Public <br />Education. .For copies of these letters, see page 515 of this book. <br />Agenda Item 3: Ca ital Im rovements Bud et <br />The Board of Commissioners, members of the Orange County School Board, <br />members of Chapel Hill-Carrboro School Board and various county staff <br />members discussed the possibilities of a bond issue. The Board of <br />Commissioners requested the school boards consider this matter and <br />report to the Commissioners at the June 20th meeting the decisi6ns of <br />each board concerning the level of support for a referendum and the exact <br />package to go to referendum in November. <br />Dr. Simmons and the Recreation Director addressed the Board about <br />the possibility of transferring from capital to current budget the <br />requested funding to provide lighting for certain tennis courts in Orange County. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the Chairman <br />called the meeting adjourned. <br />r <br />~~ ~~ ' <br />• Richard E.;Whitted, Chairman ~ <br />Mary Lou Bouley, Cierk <br /> <br />
