~~S ~a ~ o3'~O <br />~~1~°Q~ <br />~ - ~-~ <br />Resolution of Intent to Adopt the 2009-10 <br />Orange County Budget <br />o~i~aoo9g <br />The items outlined below summarize decisions thaf the Board acted upon June 11, 2009 in approving <br />the FY 2009-10 Orange County Annual Operating Budget. <br />WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners has considered the Orange County FY 2009- <br />10 Manager's Recommended Annual Operating Budget; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioners have agreed on certain modifications to the Manager's FY 2009-10 <br />Recommended Annual Operating Budget as presented in the 2009-10 County Manager's <br />Recommended Budget on May 12, 2009; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE lT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners expresses <br />its intent to adopt the 2009-10 Orange County Budget Ordinance on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, based <br />on the following stipulations: <br />1) Property Tax Rates <br />a) The ad valorem property tax rate shall be set at 85.8 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. <br />The revenue neutral rate for Orange County is 85.8 cents per $100 assessed valuation. <br />b) The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School District Tax shall be set at 18.84 cents per $100 of <br />assessed valuation. It is the intent of the Board of <br />County Commissioners for Eno Fire District and White Cross Fire District to develop their FY 2010-11 <br />annual operating budgets based on the FY 2009-10 revenue neutral rate. For Eno Fire District, the <br />rate would be 4.99 cents per $100 assessed valuation. and for White Cross Fire District, the rate <br />would be 5.05 cents per $100 assessed valuation. <br />
