r ~~`k~ <br />i <br />F <br />Agenda Item 7: A oi~p .ntments <br />The Board postponed action on appointments to the Health and Medical <br />Care Advisory Council. <br />The Board requested the Clerk advertise for resumes from persons <br />interested in serving an the Land Title Records Advisory Committee. <br />The Board requested the Clerk advertise for resumes from persons <br />residing in Cheeks Township to fill the vacancy created by the resignation <br />of David English from the Recreation Advisory Council, The Board also <br />requested the Recreation Advisory Council submit nominations. <br />Agenda Item 10: Cane Creek Reservoi_r_Pro,~ect <br />The Board discussed a letter written by the Chairman of QWASA's <br />Board requesting the Board of Commissioners consider certain alternatives <br />relating to the development of Cane Creek, For copy of this letter, <br />see page 495 of this book. <br />It was the consensus of the Board to respond to OWASA's letter by <br />explaining the current stat~:s of the county's land use plan and the work <br />being done by the Water Resources Planning and Protection Task Force; <br />that the Board was considering Alternative No. 2 listed in OWASA's letter. <br />as well as exploring other options; that at the present time the Board <br />is not in a position to select alternatives in terms of developing water <br />resources buc that the consideration of the development of water resources <br />be included in the Board's total work plan. <br />The Chairman called for a five minute recess before hearing Orange <br />County school's budget presentations. <br />Agenda Item 9: Summer Lunch Program <br />Mrs. Muir, representative of Orange County Schools, gave projections <br />for Orange County School's Summer Lunch Program. <br />Commissioner Willhoit said the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools had agreed <br />to operate a summer lunch program and had agreed to cut off any site that <br />began to operate at a deficit. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, <br />the Board approve the Orange Cuu~.i'y school's request, under the same <br />conditions as the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School's Suirmer Lunch Program, <br />and to underwrite any losses incurred up to $2,000 in the unforeseen event <br />that there is a deficit. Vote: ayes, 4; noes, 0. <br />
