E <br />P. <br />3 <br />4 <br />I <br />f <br />i <br />i <br />~': [Jj <br />.~. ;l '3 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MAY 15, 1979.- <br />; The Orange Gounty Board of Commissioners met in regular session on <br />Tuesday, May 15, 1979, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Room or the Orange <br />Gounty Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, <br />and Commissioners Anne Barnes Don Willhoit Norman Walker and Norman <br />- Gustaveson. <br />The following item was added to the agenda: <br />Agenda Item 18: Request for Budget Session in Chapel Hill <br />Agenda Item 2: Items of Public Concern <br />No member of the audience desired to comment about items not appearing <br />on the agenda. Mr. Phillip Scott said he and his architect, Mr. Peter Warner, <br />would like to address the Board concerning agenda item 7. <br />Agenda Item 3: Minutes <br />Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, the Board <br />approve the minutes of May 7, 1979, as corrected. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 6: Eubanks Road <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded 6y Commissioner Barnes, the Board <br />acknowledge receipt of the Department of Transportation's recommendation not <br />to add Dead End Road off 1727 (Eubanks Road} to the state system. <br />Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 7: Secondary Road Program <br />Mr. Peter Warner told the Board he was the architect for a neighborhood <br />and community center planned around the historic Craig Estate. Mr. Warner <br />and Mr. Phillip Scott requested the Board recommend to the Department of <br />Transportation the paving of Craig Road, #1721. <br />Commissioner Walker suggested this item be referred to the Department <br />of Transportation to be put in the proper priority for paving. <br />Mr. Watkins of the Department of Transportation confirmed to <br />Commissioner Barnes that his department had investigated each pf the roads <br />residents had requested at the public hearing. <br />
