MINUTES <br />~~,,.x~~u ~ -{ ~` ~ HILLSBOROUGH TOWN BOARD <br />October 12 2009 <br />7:00 PM, Town Barn <br />PRESENT: Mayor Tom Stevens, Commissioners Frances Dancy, Mike Gering, Evelyn Lloyd <br />(arrived at 7:13 p.m.), L. Eric Hallman, and Brian Lowen. <br />STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Eric Peterson, Assistant Town Manager/Public Works <br />Director Nicole Ard, Town Clerk/Director of Administration and Human Resources Donna <br />Armbrister, Planning Director Margaret Hauth, Finance Director Greg Siler, Police Chief <br />Clarence Birkhead, and Town Attorney Bob Hornik. <br />Mayor Stevens called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />1. PUBLIC CHARGE <br />7:01:5 ~ PM Mayor Stevens did not read the public charge but noted it would be followed. <br />2. PRESENTATION <br />A. Presentation of a Memorial Resolution honoring Dr. Joseph Gatewood <br />7:Q2:06 PM Mayor Stevens read the Memorial Resolution honoring Dr. Joseph Gatewood into <br />the record. He noted that the resolution honored Dr. Gatewood's achievements and his service to <br />Hillsborough, as well as acknowledged the justly earned respect and admiration of all whom he <br />came into contact with. Mayor Stevens offered the Board's condolences to members of the <br />Gatewood family that were present. <br />3. INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR TO FILL AN OUT-OF-TOWN VACANCY ON <br />THE PLANNING BOARD <br />7:04:14 PM John Bemis introduced himself to the Board, noting he was a former teacher at <br />Cameron Park Elementary and he had lived in Hillsborough for the past 10 years. He said his <br />interest in serving on the Planning Board was to be able to give back to the community and be a <br />helpful and productive member of the Planning Board by contributing to the decisions that <br />shaped the Town. <br />Mayor Stevens thanked Mr. Bemis for his willingness to volunteer, noting he had been very <br />active in the community in many ways. <br />4.
