T~~~S7 <br />Commissioner Gustaveson recommended Mr. Joe Bradshaw coordinate <br />a secretarial pool of all agencies involved to take minutes of HSAC <br />meetings on a rotating basis. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, <br />the Board endorse paragraph 2 of the Steering Committee's letter, <br />which states: "Please note that there is no particular feeling that <br />this task must be performed at all times by a single person. In fact, <br />one suggestion made by a member of the HSAC was that each County Muman <br />Services Department be expected to provide this support on a rotating <br />basis". Vote: ayes, 5; noes, p. <br />Commissioner Barnes clarified the words, "this support", to mean <br />the taking of minutes of the H5AC meetings. <br />Agenda Item 7: Senior Citizens Month <br />The Director of the Council on Aging was present to endorse a <br />proclamation declaring the month of May as Senior Citizens Month in <br />Orange County. For copy of this proclamation, see page 396 of this <br />book. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, <br />the Board endorse the proclamation, changing the word "I" in the <br />last paragraph to the word "we". Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 8: Focal Point on A in <br />Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, <br />the Board of Cor:;issioners officially designate Orange County Council <br />on Aging as the Focal Point on Aging for the ~ilanning and coordination <br />of services for the elderly population in Orange County. Vote: <br />ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Mr. Wilson McKerrow, Chairman of the Council on.Aging, endorsed <br />Commissioner Barnes' motion, gave a brief statement about the background, <br />establishment, organization and services of the Council on Aging and <br />requested Orange County Council on Aging be designated as the focal <br />paint on aging. <br />3 <br />
