-;~ ~~€o <br />3 <br />1 Agenda Item 5: Orange County Involvement Council <br />Ms. Nancy Park requested the Board designate the Human Services <br />Advisory Council as Orange County's Involvement Council to enable <br />~~ the Council for Women, in cooperation with ACCE55, to apply for a _... <br />$2,500 grant as partial funding of a summer project which would employ <br />eight (+) teenagers to gather, write, edit, cross reference and index <br />information in Orange County with special emphasis an teen resources. <br />The $2,500 would pay for a supervisor for the teen project employees, <br />office and travel costs and a one-day meeting of information and <br />referral agency personnel at the end of the summer. <br />Cortsnissioner Willhoit moved to designate the Council for Women <br />as Orange County's Involvement Council, with the understanding this <br />designation is an interim evaluation which would be considered again <br />at a later time. Motion died for lack of a second. <br />Commissioner Barnes questioned the CETA pirector about the possibilities <br />of funding this project totally through CETA and expressed her preference <br />to utilize CETA for the entire program. <br />Commissioner Walker returned to the meeting. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to <br />designate the Orange County Board of Commissioners as Orange County's <br />Involvement Council, with the understanding someone from the Office <br />of Citizen Affairs would meet with the Board to explore ways tv <br />~ deve1op this prcjact in. Orange County. Vote: ayes, Commissioners <br />Willhoit, Barnes, Whitted and Walker; noes, Commissioner Gustaveson. <br />Commissioner Whitted arrived at the meeting during discussion <br />of the above motion. <br />1 <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by`'Commissioner Barnes, <br />to authorise the Council for Women to proceed with application for <br />the grant.
