~o,.- <br />A:. v~ ~~ <br /> <br />i <br />I <br />i <br />k <br />Mr. Elio Soldi, of SHAPE, urged the county pursue the course <br />it had committed itself to in the law suit so far. <br />Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, <br />the Board move into executive session to discuss litigation regarding <br />I-40 and an~additional matter. Vote: ayes, Commissioners Barnes, <br />Gustaveson, Whitted and Willhoit; noes, Commissioner Walker. <br />Commissioner Waller said he did not want to discuss Interstate 40 <br />in executive session since this item was an added as an addendum to the <br />agenda and did not give the general public adequate notice to speak to <br />this issue. Commissioner Walker left the meeting at this time. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Whitted, <br />Orange County continue in the law suit on a cost-sharing basis. Vote: <br />ayes, 4; noes, 0. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson left the meeting at this time. <br />The Chairman called for public session to reconvene and announced that <br />the Board did vote to direct the attorneys to perfect an appeal on the <br />State law suit on a cost-sharing arrangement with SHAPE. <br />Agenda Ttem 6: Stonerid a Subdivision <br />The Erosion Control Officer reported erosion control violation by the <br />developer of Stoneridge Subdivision. He recommended the Board levy a <br />civil penalty against the developer. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded 6y Commissioner Barnes, the <br />Erosion Control Officer immediately issue a stop ~•:ork order to the developer <br />of Stoneridge Subdivision. Vote: ayes, 3; noes, 0. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, the <br />Board assess a civil penalty of $100 per day beginning March 7, 1979 and <br />continuing until the site was brought into compliance. Vote: ayes, 3; <br />noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 14: Land Title Records Grant <br />The Register of Deeds requested the Board adopt a proposed budget as <br />submitted in her memorandum of April 23, 1979; that the Board establish <br />intent to appoint a Land Title Records Advisory Committee; that the Board <br />determine the number of persons who should serve on this committee; and that <br />Orange County be brought under the provisions of GS 161-22.2.
