materials that minimize life -cycle environmental impacts, resource depletion, and human
toxicity.
The Catena Group was retained to perform a Threatened and Endangered Species Survey
for the Paydarfar site. Catena's conclusions were that the project will have "No Effect" on
any listed species for Orange County. Although the Paydarfar site will need to be cleared
for construction grading, the adjacent site buffers will remain largely intact, providing
habitat for area flora and fauna.
The building will be designed in a way to decrease noise reaching the outside. Operations
at the transfer station will be limited to daytime hours. Also the surrounding buffer areas
will remain largely intact, which will buffer the surrounding area to any on -site traffic and
noise levels.
In order to protect surface water and groundwater, BMPs will be implemented to improve
stormwater runoff quality at the site. Wastewater will be recycled at the site, and residue
will be hauled offsite for disposal. A separate septic tank and drainfield system will be
designed to handle the minimal sanitary wastes generated at the facility. No solvents or
similar type cleaning fluids will be used in wash -down operations of the transfer station
tipping floor. No long -term outdoor storage of waste or other materials will be allowed.
6.0 REFERENCES
Cunningham, W.L. and C.C. Daniel, 2001.
