The <br />potential concern: <br />Section <br />Station <br />-- orange County Transfer Station and <br />oea acknowledge the fbIlowing-arees of <br />1. The proposed Transfer Station facility is adjacent to the clos6d Orange County C &D landfill which has <br />shown exceedances of the 2L groundwater standards in its rnHtoring system. If the proposed facility <br />were to utilize the existing potable well on the property regul �dy, it could potentially cause the <br />contamination plume to migrate (be pulled) towards t wd facility. <br />2. The proposed facility location is in close proximity bo the Rogers Road community that has raised <br />concerns about the -,placement of any future Solid Waste facilities in this are& <br />Orange County should snake every feasible effort to minimiac the generation of waste, to recycle materials for <br />which viable markets exist,, and to use recycled products and materials in the development of this project where <br />suitable. Any waste generated by this project that cannot be beneficially reused or recycled must be disposed of <br />at a solid waste management: facility permitted by the Division.
