It is recommended that any well be installed in the northern one third of the <br />parcel its order to- comply with this 500 -foot distancc requirement. The applicant may <br />also want to determine whether there is any Brisk of pumping groundwptear potentially <br />impacted by the nearby landfill units, oven at locations gtcater than 500 feet from the <br />waste. C <br />Both the University of NC Airport Road/ Old Sani tary Landfill Site (NCD 980 <br />557 615) and the University of NC/Airport Waste Disposal A =a Site (NCD 980 557 623) <br />have been removed from the CERCLIS List. The former is on the NC !inactive <br />hazardous Sites Branch (IHSB) Priority List. The latter is undergoing remediation under <br />the IHSB Registered Environmental Consultant Program. I13oth of these sites are located <br />about 2.5 miles southeast of the project. The UNC- Chapel Hill -Estes Drive Site (NCI <br />982 093 783), located about 2.8 miles soutbeast of the project is undcrgoing remediation - <br />under the supervision of the NC'Hamrdous Waste Sectionl(sitc has been dcferred from <br />CERCLA). No action has been taken by the .IHSB with regards to this site and the <br />Orange County Regional Landfill Site. <br />After mvicwing the file information, ! b0ove it is ikely that the project will <br />affect the above four sites, with caveats on the Orange County Regional Landfill Site, w <br />stated above.
