Count 's <br />Ms. Debbie Lee, Chairperson of the Orange County Commission for <br />Women, endorsed a proposal to share Hillsborough Commission for Women's <br />office space with the Rape Crisis Center, Women's Health Counseling <br />Service, Inc. and the Coalition for Battered Women. <br />Ms. Frances Kendell, on behalf of the..Orange County Coalition for <br />Battered Women, spoke in favor of the office-sharing proposal and <br />requested the Board fund $4,000 of the Coalition's budget. <br />Ms. Rachel Jones, President of Women's Health Counseling Service, Inc., <br />spoke in favor of the office-sharing proposal and requested the Board <br />fund $1,900 of the Women's Health Counseling Service's budget, <br />Ms. Andrea 5edlak, on behalf of the Rape Crisis Center, spoke in <br />favor of the office-sharing proposal. <br />peputy Sheriff David Hughes; Mr. Jerry Robinson, Health Director; <br />Mr. Wes Ware, and Ms. Tan Schwab spoke in favor of the above four <br />agencies participating in an office sharing-proposal so that all <br />of the agencies could have an office in Hillsborough. <br />There being no other persons to speak at the public hearing, the <br />same was adjourned. ~ ' <br />Agenda Item 5: Report from Planning Board Concerning . <br />a Water Line along U. S. 70 <br />The Planning Director submitted and explained a memorandum concerning <br />the Planning Board's recommendation on a petition requesting the <br />extension of water lines from Durham into Eno Township along U. 5..70. <br />For a copy of this recommendation memorandum, see page 271 of this <br />book. <br />Mr. Bill McPherson, Attorney, spoke on behalf of the petitioners <br />requesting the extension. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, the Board <br />adopt the Planning Board's recommendation to support the petitioner's <br />request that the City of Durham extend water service 3,000 feet into <br />Orange County and, further, if water and sewer lines are installed, they <br />have sufficient reserve capacity to serve the area west of the I-85/ U. 5. 70 <br />intersection in the future.
