Animal Services Advisory Board -New Appointment <br />7 The Board considered making a new appointment to the Animal Services Advisory <br />8 Board.. <br />9 A motion was made by Commissioner Nelson, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to <br />10 appoint Katherine Brooks to a first term ending June 30, 2012 to the ASAB. <br />11 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />12 <br />13 b. Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau -New Appointment <br />14 The Board considered making a new appointment to the Chapel Hill/Orange County <br />15 Visitors Bureau. <br />16 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Nelson to <br />17 appoint Anthony Carey to a first full term ending December 31, 2012 to the Chapel Hill/Orange <br />18 County Visitors Bureau. <br />19 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />20 <br />21 c. Hillsborough Planning Board -New Appointment <br />22 The Board considered making a new appointment to the Hillsborough Planning Board. <br />23 Commissioner Gordon said that she does not recall the Board appointing someone that <br />24 has not applied or at least has not submitted an application. <br />25 The Clerk said that the Town of Hillsborough had made the recommendation and <br />26 usually follows the same procedure but that she would check to see why an application had not <br />27 been filed for Mr. Bemis since he is recommended by the Town of Hillsborough. <br />28 Donna Baker said that she would pull this and make sure it goes through the proper <br />29 procedures. <br />30 This item was deferred. <br />31 <br />32 d. Historic Preservation Commission -New Appointment <br />33 The Board considered making a new appointment to the Historic Preservation <br />34 Commission. <br />35 Commissioner Hemminger said that this commission has no racial diversity. She would <br />36 like to encourage more people to apply. <br />37 Commissioner Jacobs said that part of the problem is that there are state requirements <br />38 to qualify and members have to have some level of expertise in historic preservation. <br />39 A motion was made by Commissioner Hemminger, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs <br />40 to appoint Steve Rankin to a partial term ending March 31, 2010 to the Historic Preservation <br />41 Commission. <br />42 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />43 <br />44 11. Information Items <br />45 <br />46 • Proposed Parking Plan for West County Campus Buildings <br />47 <br />48 Commissioner Jacobs said that the way the new library was designed, it encourages <br />49 people to spend time in the library, and he does not know why there is a two-hour parking limit <br />50 in the parking deck. <br />
