General Statements of Work Initiated (bulleted list): <br /> Economic Development <br /> • Development of the necessary tools and policies to attract businesses to the <br /> County will continue to be of primary importance. <br /> • The development of local and regional partnerships are vital to the success of <br /> economic development in Orange County and will continue to be a focus. <br /> • Pursuit of the County's desired businesses (clean and green) will continue. <br /> • Public outreach and education on the objectives of the county's economic <br /> development priorities will continue. <br /> Housing <br /> • Began survey of County Mobile Home Parks to determine condition and confirm <br /> location. (H-4.1) <br /> • A local non-profit organization began construction of a 50 unit affordable housing <br /> subdivision for first-time homebuyers earning less than 60% of the area median <br /> income. (H-3.1 and 3.2) <br /> • Began repair of five duplexes to be available for lease by individuals with <br /> disabilities. Partner <br /> MOAs approved. <br /> • Staffs from all organizations working to develop Greenhouse Gas study <br /> implementation phase. <br /> • ERCD is pursuing acquisition of additional high priority natural areas and wildlife <br /> habitat for the County's Seven Mile Creek Preserve. <br /> • Extent of mature hardwood forest harvested between 2003-2008 was determined <br /> for the State of the Environment 2009 report. <br /> • Mountains-to-Sea Trail and nature preserve reports prepared, for October BOCC <br /> consideration. <br /> Parks and Recreation <br /> • PR 3.2 The park master plan for Fairview Community Park will be implemented <br /> in 2009-2010. <br /> • PR 4.4 A Recreation Needs Assessment will be included in the Parks and <br /> Recreation winter Program Guide. <br /> 5 <br />
