To serve as a
starting point, the following ideas are offered:
• Advisory boards were not consulted during this reporting process, which could add
value if done in the future.
• Include all departments associated with the Services and Facilities Element (Solid
Waste, Emergency Services, Libraries, and School System) in the reporting process.
• Evaluation criteria, such as performance standards or metrics would provide better
measurement of County progress towards Plan goals and objectives than current
reporting methods.
• Comprehensive Plan status reports could be coordinated with the Manager's Office,
as a subcomponent of its comprehensive County reporting efforts.
• Comprehensive Plan status reports could provide an opportunity for Planning and
Inspections to convey data on building activity to the BOCC (i.e. Major, Minor,
Except Subdivision lots created, Certificates of Occupancy issued, building permits,
etc.).
• Reporting departments could be asked to provide additional description of work
towards objectives beyond basic coding: "I", "C", or "O" (Initiated Action, Completed
Action, On-going Action).
50
