Orange County should decide how much the County is <br /> willing to participate in funding transportation projects to implement the Comprehensive <br /> Transportation Plan that is being developed, and how to manage these transportation <br /> grants in the future. More staff will be needed as the County applies for and is awarded <br /> more grants funded with federal transportation money. <br /> 4. Conclusion <br /> Staff has mentioned in numerous abstracts and several presentations that the County's <br /> Comprehensive Plan is far reaching and its implementation will be ongoing, which are <br /> true statements. However, in staffs attempt to establish realistic expectations, a <br /> valuable point may have been missed — implementation has already begun. This <br /> Report, although subjective to some degree, clearly demonstrates that the County is <br /> taking steps towards Plan implementation. Although much work remains to be initiated <br /> and completed, this and subsequent Reports will track progress towards reaching the <br /> various Comprehensive Plan goals and objectives. <br /> Some yet to be identified implementation actions will require review and amendment to <br /> regulations contained within the County's land use ordinances, a majority of which are <br /> presently contained with the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations. Plan <br /> implementation of this nature will take place after the Planning Department has <br /> completed its existing, BOCC sanctioned work plan, which includes reformatting <br /> existing ordinances into a Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), implementation of <br /> 49 <br />
