If additional funds <br />are made available from the ACP program aside from what will be obtained from <br />RC&D funds, then acceleration will be greatly increased and more conservation <br />.practices will be applied in a shorter period of time. - <br />4. Relationshi Between the A lication and 208 Plannin <br />This watershed area is included in both the Regional and the State 208 <br />planning ,area. There has been no monitoring in this particular area under the <br />20$ study. However, as previously noted, a sediment survey was conducted in 1977 <br />- by the Soil Conservation Service in this watershed. In addition, the USDA <br />periodically conducts a conservation needs inventory. 5o we do have current <br />information on the problems in this watershed. <br />5. Involvement of ASC5 and Other USDA A envies, Conservation Districtss and <br />_ Other A ricultural Interests in the 208 Process <br />c The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, EPA, Soil and <br />Water Conservation Districts, Soil Conservation Service and many other Federal, <br />- -_-----State, and County governmental agencies are involved in the 208 planning <br />process.. In addition to the North Carolina 208 Statewide plan, the following <br />documents have been published: <br />-, 'Best Management Practices to CantroT Sediment and Other <br />- ~ Non-Point Source Pollution from Agricultural land in NC," <br />as required by the NC 208 Water Quality Management plan. <br />"Conservation Districts and 208 Water Quality Management," - <br />pu6lished by the National Association of Conservation <br />Districts and U5 Environmental Protection Agency. <br />"Areawide Water Quality Management Planning 208 Pollution <br />Source Analysis," published by the Triangle J Council of <br />Governments. - <br />
