He felt money spent to encourage the <br />industry's settling here would be well spent because it would .provide .jobs <br />~ for Orange County residents and would increase the tax base. He said he <br />would rather make, decisions about industry on an individual basis rather than <br />a broad policy basis.' <br />~j CorrRnissioner OustaVeson moved, seconded by Com^~issioner Walker, to <br />authorize the County Manager and the Chairman to negotiate with the Totivn of <br />Hillsborough and the industry about settling in Orange Gounty. The Board <br />of Commissioners will assist in.nroviding sewer lines for the plant within <br />an estimated outside limit of $12,00 to $15,000. This gives the County <br />Manager and Chairman authority to move with the endorsement of the Board to <br />indicate to the industry that Orange County wants the industry to settle here. <br />Vote: ayes, 5; npes, 0. <br />Commissioner ~rVhitted said reviewing industry on an individual basis <br />rather than a broad policy basis allows the Board to be more selective.
