The. building site is located close to <br />- the Hillsborough Waste Water Treatment•5tation. The Tine wi11.serve two sites - <br />one for this industry and one for another potential industry. The industry has <br />requested the Commissioners give some indication of their willingness to provide <br />the pump station and line. The name of the industry is not public by their request. <br />The building to be constructed would be approximately 75,000 square feet and <br />the industry would employ approximately 125 individuals. Commissioner l+Ihitted <br />said the Mayor of Hillsborough would accept negotiations an constructing a line <br />pending action of the Board of Commissioners. <br />The County Manager said the industry is a manufacturer of metalic labels <br />such as those on appliances or motor parts-so-there will be no industrial bv- <br />product or waste product: The company's fiscal year-begins September 1st <br />~ and they want to have the plant in operation by the first day of their fiscal <br />vear. The tom?any proposes to invest about $2 million, employ approximately <br />125 skilled or semi-skillei individuals at local wage rate or better. They <br />plan to train su?ervisory personnel here. !~lith a 52 million investment, the <br />industry would bring $12,OOa to $1,000 county tax•base its first taxable <br />year. <br />- 7- <br />
