B12 <br />9 <br />Agenda Item 20: Traffic Control Issue <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, <br />the State be requested to review the possibility of lowering the soeed limit <br />on Highway 70 between Colfax and Mountain View Subdivision. He also moved <br />the State be requested to conduct a traffic study to determine whether <br />a traffic light should be erected at the intersection of Highway 7D and <br />St. Mary's Road. Vote: ayes, 5; noes,0. <br />Commissioner Whitted asked the Clerk write a letter to the Department <br />of Transportation about the Board's wishes. ~-_ - _._ "._ <br />The Planning Director requested the Board endorse the concept of a - <br />one-day conference in January to educate the public on land use planning. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson said he hoped that the people from Carrboro, <br />Chapel Hill, Mebane and Hillsborough planning boards could all be participants. <br />Commissioner Willhoit asked whether a special effort would be <br />made to include the township advisory councils.
