ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: October 20, 2009 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. G~ - r <br />SUBJECT: Approval of BOCC Retreat A enda <br />DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners and PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />County Manager <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Draft Agenda <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Pam Hemminger <br />Bernadette Pelissier <br />Alice Gordon <br />Frank Clifton, 245-2300 <br />PURPOSE: To consider approval of the proposed Board retreat process for November 14, <br />2009 full day retreat. <br />BACKGROUND: The Board agreed to hold a retreat this fall and Staff, under the direction of <br />Commissioner Gordon, Commissioner Hemminger and Commissioner Pelissier, has worked <br />with facilitators Donna Warner and Lydian Altman from the UNC School of Government to <br />develop a retreat proposal. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Based on preliminary estimates, the anticipated cost of the first retreat <br />will be no more than $4000. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board of County Commissioners <br />approve the proposed BOCC retreat agenda. <br />
