Frank Clifton said that his experience
elsewhere is that a lot of employees never go to the doctor until it is too late and then the
insurance skyrockets. If this is done, it helps control the costs because of preventative care.
Commissioner Pelissier asked about applying this to retirees and it was answered that
this does apply. The only group it does not apply to is dependents.
A motion was made by Commissioner Hemminger, seconded by Commissioner
Pelissier to approve the renewal of the health insurance with enhancements and incentive
(Option 2), and the enhancements to the dental insurance, effective January 1, 2010.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
7.
