At that tame, the <br />Board asked staff to pregare a report after reviewing what rescue <br />service needs exist in Orange County, what aptaans exist far providing <br />those servicesr and how might those alternatives be financed. <br />Ia a series of meetings over the past several months, County staff and <br />various emergency response agency personnel discussed historical levels <br />af,rescue service and yneadence of rescue calls, desired Levels of <br />service, and options for providing rescue service. The mast <br />signa.facant outcome of these discussions has been agreement by the <br />South Orange Rescue.Squad and the Orange County Rescue Squad that they <br />will work~and train ja~.ntly to provide basin anal 'specialized rescue <br />service throughout Orange County, with assistance on basic services <br />Pram other emergency response agencies. <br />Additional world remains to be done in identifying any pressing <br />rescue equipment needs and haw those needs could be funded. <br />Following further discussions with rescue squad leaders, staff plan <br />to present more specific recammendatians concern3,ng equipment needs and <br />funding samet~ne during the next several months. <br />RECaMMENL-ATTaN: The Manager recommends that the Bawd receive the <br />report far information only at this time. <br />
