Technical Amendment <br />2. On August 18, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners approved a budget <br />amendment item that accepted a $4,000 donation for the University Mall Walk Program <br />on behalf of the .Department on Aging. The amendment inaccurately labeled these <br />proceeds as belonging to the General Fund rather than a separate grant fund for the <br />Senior Citizen Wellness Program. This technical amendment reallocates the donation <br />from the General Fund to the appropriate grant project fund. (See Attachment 4, Senlor <br />Citizen Health Promotion Program Grant Project Ordinance) <br />Department on Aging <br />3. On August 18, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners approved a contribution from <br />the Friends of the Seymour Center of $4,576 to reestablish the center's evening hours in <br />FY 2009-10. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the <br />above stated purpose. <br />4. The Department on Aging has received funding totaling $1,522 for Operation Fan from <br />the Triangle J Council of Governments and citizen donations. This program purchases <br />fans for low-income, older adults in need. This budget amendment provides for the <br />receipt of these funds for the above stated purpose. <br />(See Attachment 7, Column 3) <br />Library Services <br />5. Library Services has received a grant totaling $15,600 from the Bill and Melinda Gates <br />Foundation to purchase computers and supporting equipment for Carrboro -McDougle <br />Library ($5,850) and the Cybrary ($9,750). This budget amendment provides for the <br />receipt of these funds for the above stated purpose. (See Attachment 7, Column 4) <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are included in the background information above. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Interim Manager recommends the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve the budget, capital project and grant project ordinance amendments for <br />fiscal year 2009-10. <br />
