He suggested doing a resolution this summer in <br /> appreciation because he has been an advocate for the arts in Orange County. <br /> Commissioner Pelissier said that at the HSAC's last two meetings, they <br /> discussed their role and she shared with them that one of the Board's priorities <br /> was to review the functions of all advisory boards. She said that some of the <br /> members wanted to know if they should wait for the Board of Commissioners' <br /> direction about the role. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Pelissier, seconded by Chair <br /> Foushee that the Human Services Advisory Committee continue its discussion <br /> on its mission over the summer and not wait for direction from the Board before <br /> the summer break. <br /> VOTE: UNANMOUS <br /> Commissioner Yuhasz said that he is disappointed during the budget <br /> process because one of the priorities of the Board identified in early January <br /> was for Economic Development. He asked that this be added to the discussion <br /> list to look at some of the pay-as-you-go allocations being shifted to an <br /> economic development investment. <br /> The Board agreed to add this to the discussion list. <br /> Commissioner Gordon said that the Commission for the Environment <br /> has announced that the Environmental Summit will be September 12th by the <br /> Botanical Garden Center. The State of the Environment Report will be released <br /> a little before that time. <br /> Commissioner Gordon wished Laura Blackmon well. <br /> Commissioner Gordon welcomed the Interim Manager Frank Clifton. <br /> 9. County Manager's Report <br /> Laura Blackmon said that she will think fondly of Orange County and <br /> these years have been a good experience professionally. <br /> 10. Appointments <br /> a. Chatham/Orange Joint Planning Task Force — New <br /> Appointments <br /> The Board considered making appointments to the Chatham/Orange <br /> Joint Planning Task Force. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Jacobs to appoint the following to the Chatham/Orange Joint <br /> Planning Task Force. <br />
