N.C. ~a NORTH CAROLINA j ORANGE COTJNTY I THIS AGREEMEN'T', made and entered into this the 5th day ~ of June, 1978, by and between Coleman, Hernholz & Dickerson, Attorneys at Law, Orange County, North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as ATTORNEYS, and Orange County, hereinafter referred to as the COUNTX; W T 7.' N E S 5 E T H: WFIEREAS, the Orange County Department of Social Services (hereinafter referred to as the DEPARTMENT) has need of special legal services, not otherwise provided by County government agenci s,. in connection with its services to needy and depend~ht persons in Orange County, the administration of its functions under the provisions of Article 9, Chapter 110 of the General Statutes of North Carolina and other laws of the State and representation of ~. the DEPARTMENT, its caseworkers and employees be~f'ore~the various courts and agencies of the State of North Carolina; and i WHEREAS, ATTORNEYS and COUNTY have previously contracted. one with the other, for the purposes and consideration set forth herein to the mutual satisfaction of both for the period July 1, I 1976 through June 30, 1977; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of COUNTY and ATTORNEYS to extend the said contract from July 1, 1977 through June 30, 197'8; and NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and a mutual terms and agreements hereinafter set forth, the COUNTY and ATTORNEYS do contract, each with the other, as follows: - 1. That ATTORNEYS shall perform such services and ren~ C such advise to the DEPARTMENT on such occasions as shall be re- quired by the Director of the DEPARTMENT and, with the approval of+ said Director, employees and caseworkers as shall require the services of ATTORNEYS.
