The exception, relating to split doors, appears to
to the advantage of the container. This split door prevents a problem that arises when the
single lid goes .into a filled container causing it to become detached from the arms of the
loader. .
These same two containers will be purchased by the Chapel Hill-Carrbora school system.
It is recarrJnended by the Assistant County Manager, acting in place of the Planager who is
currently an sick leave, that the Board of Commissioners accept the low bid by Consolidated
Energy Products, Inc. of $7,364.00. The Consolidated Energy bid was low on all but the rear
loading containers, but, if we accept their total package, the cost is $100 less than the
sum of the individual items. The savings by taking the whole package is $20.00, since the
Sancti law bid on the rear loading containers was $$0 less than Consolidated.
$11,500.00 was budgeted .far this purpose and additionally the Chapel Hi11 purchase will
reduce the net cost to the County by. $764.
Budget $11,500.00
Chapel Hill Share 764.00
Resources Available $12,264.00
RecortQnended Bid 7,364.00
Remaining Funds $ 4,900.00
