'~. -,- .~.w ,.1 IT I5 THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT the Orange County Board of Commissioners reaffirm the purpose of the Open Meetings Law .and the public policy of the State of North Carolina and declare that all commissions, committees, boards, councils and other bodies, whether governmental or advisory, over which the Board of Commissioners have jurisdiction and authority shall conduct all of their official meetings in strict compliance with the provisions of the Open Meetings Law to the end that the business o£ the people be conducted openly. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT as to those Commissions., committees, boards, councils and other bodies whether governmental. or advisory over which the Board of Commissioners have no juris- diction or authority but which bodies exist to conduct the bus- ~iness of the people of Orange County, the Board of Commissioners urge and encourage their strict compliance with the provisions of the Open Meetings Law to the end that the business of the people be conducted openly. This resolution is effective upon its passage. .. s;.. Thereupon, Commissioner Norman Walker __ moved the passage of the foregoing resolution and Commissioner Norman Gustavesyn seconded the motion.
