1. All new construction and substantial improvements shall be anchored to prevent <br />flotation, collgapse, or lateral movement of the structure. <br />2. All new construction and substantial improvements shall be constructed with <br />materials and MgIfty equipment resistant to minimize flood damage. <br />3. All new construction - or substantial improvements shall be constructed by <br />methods and practices that minimize flood damages. <br />4. Electrical, heating, ventilation , plumbing, air conditioning equipment, and other <br />service facilities shall be designed and/or located so as to prevent water from <br />baduldtchen fixtmres ductwork, electric meter Panels/boxes, utility /cable boxes, <br />appliances electric <br />ph <br />�'ances (Washers, ft—ers. refrigerator, etc.), hot water heaters. and ele <br />outlets/switches. <br />5. All new and replacement water supply systems shall be designed to. minimize or <br />eliminate infiltration of floodwaters into the system <br />6. New and'EMIacement sgWIM sewage systems shall be designed to- mini miz <br />eliminate infiltration of floodwaters into the systems and discharges from the <br />systems into floodwaters. <br />7. On site . waste disposal systems shall be located and constructed to avoid <br />impairment to them or contamination from them during flooding. <br />8. Any alteratioq,.repair reconstiuction, or improvements to a structure, which <br />complies with the provisions of this Ordinance, shall meet the requirements of <br />"new construction!" as contained in this Ordinance. <br />9. New solid waste disposal facilities, hazardous waste management facilities, <br />salvage vards and chemical storage, facilities shall not be uermitted in SFHAs. <br />10. A structure or tank for chemical or fuel storage incidental to an -allowed use or to <br />the operation of a water treatment plant or wastewater treatment facility may be <br />located in a SFHA only if the structure or tank is either elevated or flood proofed <br />to at least the regWg= flood protection elevation and certified according to <br />Section 14.6(3) of this Ordinance. <br />11. Storage of the fbIlowing chemical compounds shall be prohibited within SFHAs: <br />a) Acetone, <br />b) Ammonia, <br />c) Benzene, <br />d) Calcium carbide <br />0 Carbon disulfide, <br />f) celb&wa <br />g) Chlorine, <br />h) Hvdrochloric —acid <br />D Prussic acid, <br />D Magnesium, <br />k) Nitric acid, <br />1) Oxides of nitrogen, <br />14 <br />
