26 <br />PART XXIV. Section II. Definitions of the Subdivision Regulations is hereby amended by adding <br />the following definitions and deleting the existing definitions as follows: <br />"Floodplain refers to any land area susceptible to being inundated by water fiom any source, more <br />specifically, lands subject to a one (1) percent or greater chance of being flooded in any ig ven year as <br />determined in the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. The floodplain is also referred to as the special <br />Mood hazard area Special flood hazard areas are mapped in the Federal EmergencManagement <br />Agency Flood Insurance Rate Maps as Zone AE for areas, where the base flood elevation has been <br />determined, and Zone A, where no base flood elevation has been determined." <br />"Floodwaymeans the channel of a river or other watercourse and the adjacent land areas that must be <br />reserved in order to discharge the base flood without cumulatively increasing the water surface elevation <br />more than one (1) foot. This term may also be referred to as the regulatory floodway." <br />"Special flood hazard areas refer to areas mapped in the Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood <br />Insurance Rate Maps with an effective date of February 2, 2007, as Zone AE for areas, where the base <br />flood elevation has been determined and Zone A where no base flood elevation has been determined." <br />PART XXV. That the Orange County Zoning Atlas is hereby amended to create the Special Flood <br />Hazard Area (SFHA) Overlay District incorporating data from the <br />aforementioned amended FIRM maps onto the Zoning Atlas, and <br />PART XXV. The Orange County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance is hereby rescinded in its <br />present form and is no longer in effect. <br />Adoption certification.
