The purpose of this investigation was to
determine the existence and extent of areas that are regulated under Section 404 of the Clean
Water Acct and to present our findings on a hand drawn map representing the approximate
location and extent of each wetland area observed. The purpose of the investigation was also to
identify areas that contain the habitat needed to support known, endangered or threatened plant or
animal species.
All wetland determinations and delineations were made ua accordance with the 1987 TES
Army Corps of Engineers wetland Delineation Manual. All stream determinations were made in
accordance with the NC Division of water Quality "Identification Methods for the Origins of
Intermittent and perennial Streams version 3.1'x. This report represents any professional opinion
as a Licensed Soil Sciehtist but does not represent concurrence by the US Array Carps of
Engineers or the NC Division of water Quality.
Wetland Investigation
Within the approximately 70 acre area designated for construction of the transfer station,
we identified three streams and four wetland areas (see attached map). Areas that met the
criteria of jurisdictional wetlands were delineated by hanging consecutively numbered lagging
along the wetland boundary to be survey located. It appears that the three streams have been
previously identified in the field. while at the site we collected supporting wetland
determination data required by . the US Army Corps of Engineers in order to conduct a
Jurisdictional, Determination. We c rnpleted two sets of wetland determination forms and three
stream determination forms and took photographs,
Soil Science Investigations + wetland Delineations, Permitting, and Consulting
